Where should I begin?  I am going to try to bring you up to speed rather quickly...Many of you know that Bunny was diagnosed with breast cancer and in September 2006 underwent a double mastectomy.
Amazingly, 30 days later she was back in her Funny Car burning up the track . She is a breast cancer survivor and maintains that early detection is the key. This turned out to be Round one.
In early 2007 Bunny underwent the knife AGAIN for a hysterectomy.
Amazingly, 5 months later she was back in her Funny Car.  This was round two.
So you think to yourself "What else could go wrong?"!  In spring of 2008
Bunny tripped and fell at her Spotsylvania home and broke her hip.  Not just a little bit either.  She had to get a new hip "installed" roughly 30 days before Easter.  She was scheduled to race at Eastside Speedway on Easter Sunday.( She has not missed the Easter race in 43 Years!!!!)
Amazingly, ( Again) She made it to the race but would not be able to drive.      Enter "
Lil Bear" Pritchett, who took the wheel of Bunny's Alcohol
Funny Car and sped down the track to victory.
Bunny is once again "Back on track".  She will be racing at Maryland International Raceway June 13th-15th for the Presidents Cup race.  She
also has her Championship car sitting on top of the new Hot Rodz Diner
that has opened at MIR.  Click
HERE for pics and full story.
In true "Bunny" style she has shown incredible strength, courage, determination and fortitude throughout her recent battles and as usual has emerged victorious.

Bunny Burkett is always a crowd favorite at Maryland International Raceway

1985 IHRA Alcohol Funny Car World Champion to be immortalized at her
home track

MECHANICSVILLE, MD. - Bunny Burkett, a Fredericksburg, Virginia native
who made Maryland International Raceway her home, will be honored
Thursday, June 12, when the facility unveils its $1 million facelift
prior to the 2008 IHRA President's Cup Nationals.

Burkett has donated the Chrysler Lazer Funny Car she drove to her world
title to the track and it will be displayed atop the new "Hot Rodz"
concession area at MIR. Though Burkett has been asked numerous times to
put the car on display at different racing halls of fame, she never
wanted to let it leave her possession. However, during a phone call with
MIR owner Royce Miller, where he was telling her about the renovations
to the track she loves so dearly, she offered to put the car on display.

Royce, Linda, Chris and Jason Miller welcome fans to the 2007 President's Cup Nationals; this year the race will be bigger and better than ever

"That car is a piece of racing history," Miller said. "We're honored
Bunny wanted to make it a part of our renovation project and it will
definitely enhance the look of the place."

For Burkett it was an easy decision.

"I love MIR," she said. "It's my home track and my favorite track."

The "Hot Rodz" concession area is just one piece of the $1 million
facelift MIR has undergone during the off-season. The facility has also
seen upgraded pit paving as well as work on the starting line and new, modernized restrooms.

"We are working to make MIR the finest drag racing facility in this
area, if not in the entire country," Miller said. "We have a firm
commitment to growing this facility and our relationship with IHRA. A
lot of work has gone into these improvements...work that will benefit
both the racers and the fans."

Burkett will be honored with the unveiling of a plaque June 12 at 4
p.m., prior to the IHRA President's Cup Nationals.

Nobody here at Bunny Burkett is really a tech wizard on computers.  When we talked of a shopping cart it sounded like a great way for all the fans who can't make it to the races to order stuff online.  In THEORY, this is a good idea!
We found out the hard way that we didn't know what the hell we were doin'!  Whether it was the cart, the pay pal stuff, or us , it seems we just could not work our way through the confusion. That being said, we wish to extend our sincerest apologies to all who got caught in the mess that ensued!  If anyone has unresolved issues please e-mail Bunny
HERE .
So we are going old skool again. If you would like something, you can e-mail or make a request in the guestbook. No middle man or bulls**t to go through. It's all handled directly by Bunny & the Boys. Thanks for your patience.

P.S. In the off chance you have any problem making contact..........blame it on"Bear"!
